What if my neighbours object to my plans?

What if my neighbours object to my plans?

Neighbours can only object with a valid planning reason, such as loss of light to their property. They can not object simply because they don't like it, or even if they believe it devalues their home, or spoils their view.

    1. Do I need planning permission for all extensions / projects?

Some extension / projects are allowed under permitted development.

It is always advisable to check with the Planning department first.

Where can I obtain further information about Planning and Building Regulations?

Planning guidelines vary for each authority so you should contact your local Planning Department direct.
